What does “creative” mean?
It’s a funny word in our industry—it’s an adjective to describe a person or idea, a noun for a deliverable or a department, and however you use it, it seems to carry a lot of weight. (Imagine how it feels being “a creative”—so much pressure!) To us, creative is less of an output or attribute as it is a way of thinking. We’re less concerned with making something utterly novel than we are with making people see something familiar in a new way. As such, creative is often an exercise in translation.
How do you make sure that our creative actually resonates with our audiences?
By combining strategy with perspective. Strategy tells us what the audience needs; our team’s diverse, empathy-driven perspectives help us imagine how they’ll feel. We also have numerous ways to test creative and user interfaces, either before they are in market or after, so you never have to just wonder if it’s working.
What does your creative process look like?
